With the Dubai World Cup just around the corner, it's time for Simon Lock, one of the judges at the Jaguar Style Stakes this year, to gives his style tips to ensure you look your best:

The Dos and Donts at DWC
FOR MEN : Dos

• Dress up!!! This is not a day at the office
• Be a little more adventurous than normal. Introduce some colour into your shirt or tie
• Wear a matching pocket square to your shirt or tie
• Make sure you have a great fitting suit. Three piece can be fun
• Feel free to wear a light colored suit because much of the races are during daylight, but remember dark colours are always stylish.
• Great fedora hats are always a hit on race day
• A great blazer and smart open neck shirt can look chic
• Wear a flower in your label that matches your ladies outfit.

FOR MEN : Don't

• Don’t wear T-shirts
• Don't wear trainers ( unless they are Gucci or LV!!)
• Don’t wear a cowboy hat instead of a fedora
• Don’t loosen your tie, stay smart always!!
• Don’t wear jeans
• Don’t wear clothes that are too tight or let your shirt come untucked from your pants.
• Don’t wear your sunglasses like they are glued onto your head!!!

FOR WOMEN : Dos

• Take the opportunity to dress in brights, pastels and florals
• Colour blocking and print clash are lastest trends
• Summer's 1950s silhouettes are in. A fabulous swing skirt with a pinched in waist
• Heels are as high as they go and the pointy toes are making a come back
• Hats should be wide brimmed and 60s floppy or wonderful pill box inspired.
• 1920's hair combs and delicate headbands can look great.
• Dresses and skirts can be short to mid calf
• Style over excess will always win

FOR WOMEN : Don't

• Underwear is NOT outerwear
• Keep fascinators simple and chic
• Don’t wear maxi dresses…they are for the beach!!!
• Don’t wear a super micro mini
• Don’t wear a mismatched handbag.
• Don’t carry your shoes in the hand no matter how much the feet hurt!!!
