Jaguar XKR Speed and Black Pack

The Jaguar XKR Speed and Black Pack was first revealed at the 2010 Abu Dhabi International Motor Show. It is the fastest and most dramatic XKR currently available in the region - its top speed has been rasied to 280kph (from an electronically-limited 250kph).

One of the additions that the XKR receives as part of the Speed Pack is a revised front aerodynamic splitter. This - and the larger rear spoiler - help to give the XKR increased balance and a reduction in lift, ensuring the XKR remains stable at high speeds.

A change that is not visible is the adjustments to the XKR's computerised Active Differential Control. Here, the system has been reprogrammed to reduced steering sensitivity at very high speed to further improve stability and driver control.

Alongside the Speed Pack, the Jaguar XKR can also be specified with an additional Black Pack which gives the car an unmatched presence on the road.

The eye-catching 20-inch Kalimnos alloy wheels are finished in gloss black, as are the window surrounds and the front grille.

To further add to the exclusive nature of an XKR fitted with the Speed and Black Pack, just three colour options are available - Ultimate Black, Salsa Red or Polaris White as seen here. Customers can also choose to apply a sweeping 'XKR' graphic which runs along each side of the car.

Under the vision of the Jaguar Designers' Choice programme, the interior is trimmed in charcoal leather which can be personalised with a range of colour stitching and grain choices. There are three veneer choices too - Dark Oak, Dark Mesh Aluminium and Piano Black.

Jaguar's Design Director, Ian Callum, says the new Black Pack is a fitting addition to the XKR: "While Jaguars are about beauty, they are also about speed and power. With the optional Black Pack you can now add a sense of drama and severity to that performance."
